Best Support for Laigan Hammond who lives with SMA!!

Laigan‘s mother Natalie and Laigan would like to get a new car seat for their car that is suitable for Leigan’s size and weight that should be issued by the NHS. Unfortunately the the NHS has refused to provide this for them so we are taking measures to try our best to earn money to help this lovely family out and my daughters best friend.

Laigan knows his current car seat is to small and of course this puts pressure on Natalie to give her son the best life she can. Because i have met Laigan i know how adorable and bubbly he is and how happy he is even with his discibility.

I would like to go one stage further and i understand it is a lot but we would like to provide them with a mobility trike. Below will be pictures of what we would like to achieve.

Please understand how severe SMA is.

Laigan has type 1 SMA: (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) this is a rare genetically inherited neuromuscular weakness and loss of movement due to muscle wasting (atrophy).

As stated the money would get him a special car seat and a mobility trike.

Cost: because these are mobility items they are very expensive so at the minute i am asking for £3000 (subject to change) i am planning to do other charity work to try and achieve this ASAP so i hope it is lower and even tho i would like to get an all singing all dancing trike i would settle to get a second hand one but will be decided once we see if i can earn enough.

Due to Laigan being a child of a soldier his mother asked some charities from that works along side the MOD for help but they were also not able to help due to his father not living with them.

The big important one then what will i do in return for your donations.

Well i am currently at ITC Catterick assisting in training the future Army so i am slightly busy but i wouldn’t ask you to spend your hard earned cash with out receiving something in return. For ever £1 you donate me and my wife will, Run/Cycle/cross trainer 1mile and this is a promise and i will obviously give proof because off course anyone can talk a good mile 🤣. I can’t give a timeline on how long the 3000 mile will take as i have work commitments and, to do it all in such a short time could cause injury but i will ensure i do it within the shortest time possible.

Laigan just wants to be like every other child with the ability to walk,run,swim and go out on his bike, he will never achieve some of these but my wife, my kids and myself will do our best to help him along the way the best we can.
