Story

Atherstone Town Cricket Club (ATCC) has a growing junior section with over 50 children aged from 5 to 17 signed up as players. The club does not discriminate and girls, boys, able bodied some with disabilities are all welcome at the club on training nights. The senior coaches are all ECB qualified.
The senior section is also growing with consideration for an additional team to be entered into competitions next year.
The club relies on local volunteers to assist with pitch and ground preparation, and the good will of its members for financial assistance. Cricket balls alone for a season cost in excess of £1000.
The club have recently been given local planning permission for new outdoor nets to enhance the practice sessions, improving skills and abilities of all. in addition to this the roller for the square is old and costing more to repair than it is worth.
The new roller (circa £10k) and the new practice nets (circa £36k) requires significant investment for the future to maintain the standards of playing and coaching which we have at present.
Cricket is game for all age groups and all levels of ability. Cricket teaches children (and some adults) life lessons and is a great way to engage with the local community. Life long friendships are formed playing cricket.
