Story
Our grandchildren, aged 6 months, 18 months and 4 years were taken into care two days before Christmas 2015. Despite my job as a paramedic and my wife working for the police we were deemed unsuitable to look after our own grandchildren. They were to be put up for adoption. We had to get legal advice and a barrister. After a long and painful battle with Sheffield social services we managed to over turn this decision. The two smallest are now living with a paternal aunt and we have the eldest boy. All are doing well and thriving.
My wife has had to effectively give up her job as our grandson has developmental delays and needs careful supervision. We have been left with a £25,000 legal bill, travel and accommodation costs and lost wages. My only option was to use up my credit cards. We have saved our grandchildren but lost nearly everything. If you can help no matter how little we would be eternally grateful.

7 years agoThankyou to all of you. Your support has been invaluable. Because of the publicity of this page we have been helped to reorganise and structure our debt and while I haven't raised the total we needed we are no longer facing ruin. This was a desperate bid of last resort that in a strange way has worked. Thank you all.
