Story

The William Riley is a historic rowing lifeboat that served the Whitby area between 1909 - 1931. She was found on the banks of the river Taw in Barnstaple in a derelict state in 2005 and was purchased by the Whitby Historic Lifeboat Trust. The vessel went through a full restoration to bring her back to her former glory. To keep the boat in excellent condition, the trust is raising funds which will be used for the upkeep and maintenance of the boat and trailer which is used for charity events, educational purposes, public displays and corporate events.
