Hi! My name's William and I'm 14 years old.In August of 2017, a group of West Sussex Explorer Scouts and I will be going to Uganda for three and a half weeks to build a kitchen and a bore hole for a school. The current kitchen at the school is constructed from four wooden posts and some metal sheets for a roof. It has no walls and no clean surfaces to prepare food on. The one cook using the kitchen makes meals for 200+ children daily. The bore hole there is the only source of 'fresh' water and it isn't dug deep enough so the water that comes up is contaminated. We hope to make the bore hole deeper giving access to clean water. I need to raise £1750 personally to cover costs of travel etc and I'll be working with the other members of Uganda 2017 to raise the £7500 needed to build the kitchen and drill the bore hole deeper.
