Weʼve raised £1,247 to support Kettering General Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit during the Coronavirus pandemic

Funded on Saturday, 3rd October 2020

    Story

Willow was born 8 weeks early weighing just 2lb 14oz. Now a healthy 12 year old, she wants to raise money for Kettering General Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit, which cared for her for the first 5 weeks of her life, and which now has the added pressure for staff and parents to keep Coronavirus out.

Willow, a student at Southfield School for Girls in Kettering, has set herself the challenge of running 100km (or nearly 2.5 marathons!) in June 2020, so 3.4km per day for 30 days.

Now on day 5, Willow has run in 20 degree temperatures and now in hail! She is still going strong but her Mum Naomi is regretting agreeing to the challenge as she is accompanying her (and is worn out already!).

Please donate what you can to encourage Willow and raise much needed funds to help the premature and poorly babies in Kettering. Thank you in advance.

She did it! 102.4km run in the 30 days of June. Hugely proud of Willow and thank you to everyone who has donated! There is still time to donate if you haven’t, to help make a real difference to premature and poorly babies.

She’s two thirds of the way there! 20 days running 3.4km a day, 68km run (42.2 miles) in total so far! 10 days to go and counting down now on the homeward stretch! Thank you for everyone’s donations which are keeping us going! Please donate if you haven’t already to make a difference to those special care babies during Covid lockdown. It would be wonderful if Willow could raise £1000!

Well that was a wet and soggy one! Had to run through lots of deep puddles this morning and more traffic on the road which we don’t like! It was our slowest run so far as we are getting tired now after 18 early mornings of running, but your donations and the thought of those premature babies and their loving parents through these unprecedented times is keeping is going! Thank you!
