Willowdale Wishes 💫

This year has been difficult for everyone in one way or another, we have been unable to see all of our family and friends and spend valuable quality time together.
As Halloween is nearly over and we all begin thinking about the C word (Christmas 😧), a huge pressure is often gift buying, which may even be amplified for some this year given the current climate. I have made the personal decision to use the money I would have spent on Christmas presents to help bring smiles to the local community in any way I can, and I hope that my family and friends will follow suit in place of buying gifts for me.
I would like to raise money to buy each resident at Willowdale Residential Home, Buckley, their ideal gift. Something that they really fancy! The amazing staff at the Residential Home will be assisting the residents in completing their wishes ready for a secret Santa to start shopping.
The inspiration for my project comes from a similar project which Dunelm have set up this year in which they have sent gift tags to care homes, schools and refuge centres, asking each individual what they would really love for Christmas.
Examples include:
- a pretty mug, some tea bags and a few biscuits
- fluffy socks and a fleece blanket
Small gifts for some which would mean the world to others! These are often things that we really really fancy and just never ask for!
