Story

Willow Tree Family Farm is a registered charity based in Shirebrook (1122101)

The charity provides a community cafe, education and day service for children and adults with additional needs along with a family community farm to visit.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak it has caused the charity to close the site gates until further notice to the general public to safeguard public health.

As the charity depend on income generated by our onsite community cafe, animal experiences and entry donations, with the closure we are unable to generate the income required to maintain our animal care staff and animal feed bill.

Our staff are working hard and making many personal sacrifices to continue caring for our animals to provide the best care possible, but we need your help.

Despite being a charity we do not receive any government funding or local council funding to operate. We are a self sustaining organisation solely dependent on visitors donations.

The charity have applied for the Derbyshire County Council small business hardship grant for £500. this is the only current available grant on offer at this time. As many will see this one off payment will not cover the charities continuing costs.

our animal feed bill is £1,105.00 and bedding bill is £350.00 a month

this is only to provide basic feed and doesn't fund the additional fresh produce they are given on a daily basis.

The charity does not want to be forced to keep our gates closed indefinitely. This will be a devastating loss for all and we wish to avoid this at all cost. The charity has been a valued part of the community and accessed by people from around the country.

Many of our animals have been rescued and we have taken them in to provide a forever home. Some of the animals was at risk of euthanized. many of our animals would not be able to be re-homed due to the current climate and other factors. Willow Tree at this time has had to suspend accepting any more animals to safeguard the once we have.

The charity has a very uncertain future as we are unaware of when we will be able to re-open and when visitors will return.

The charity has began to use our emergency reserve money and is seeking your help to keep our vital site open for you and your family.
