Story

We would love to raise £5,000 for our local Mountain rescue teams.

Each year together as team we host a Winter Wine Festival.

Each individual in the fundraising team has their own personal connections to the Mountains, the community and the people who volunteer within the mountain rescue.

The Wine Festival aims to highlight the strong sense of community in the local area and the connection to the landscape that surrounds us.

The festival has been running for 3 years now, and each year it grows in popularity, in the third year we wanted to achieve new heights to our fundraising approach with a new platform to allow those who can't join us on the evening to help us raise as much as possible.

This year the festival Celebrates Wines With Altitude, and our fundraising team decided to head up Ben Nevis with a bottle of Cielo Arriba, a wine from Grapes harvested at an altitude of 2730m about twice the height of Ben Nevis.

We felt it was a brilliant match for our cause!

A "perfect pairing" of high altitude wines and our dedicated local Mountain rescue teams.

A big thank you to Corney and Barrow Scotland for the wine and expertise at Winter Wine Festival and Silly Goose Restaurant for the fantastic venue.

Sincerely,

Seonaid, Gordon, David, Kylie and Deneil
