I recently moved to Birmingham and was shocked by how many rough sleepers there are here. As Winter is in full swing, and the temperatures plummet, it deeply saddens me to see people, shiver in the freezing temperatures, wondering where the next food will come from, and how they will be able to turn their lives around as people walk past.

I have often thought, we are all one paycheck away from homelessness - It is easy to judge rough sleepers, who often have alcohol addictions, but when life seems so bleak, and we, ourselves, drink beer and wine during the festive parties, the only difference is we can do it in the comfort of a nice bar or in our cosy homes.

Fortunately I got to know the Birmingham Outreach Angels - a team of amazing volunteers who tirelessly campaign for food and clothing donations, every week, and go round providing much needed supplies to the rough sleepers in Birmingham.

I researched the best way to support the Outeach Angels and give the rough sleepers some comfort - this led to the Winter Warmer Pack.

This pack will, at the very least, keep some rough sleepers warmer in the winter and we will also provide some literature about their nearest hostels and advice as to how they can improve their situation.

The cost of each pack is about £85 with the delivery charges. In the video I mention it is £70 but forgot to add the rucksack - doh! Each item has been carefully researched and selected based on the reviews. I have bought a pack for my video and I can vouch how warming these items are!

If we can raise £500, that will be several rough sleepers who can be warmer in the winter, all thanks to you!

Whoever donates, regardless of amount, will be be put into a pot and I will randomly select someone to win the fanatstic Lenovo VR180 Mirage Virtual Reality Camera! I will announce the winner on my Facebook page mid Jan.

If there is any money left over (for example, if we are short of buying another pack) your donation will still be used to purchase toiletries and snacks which we will add into the other winter warmer packs.

The money will be spent on the items mid January, to give enough time to raise the money and will be delivered by Outreach Angels.
