    Story

Hello... please could you have a read of a project I am potentially working on with my little angel son Winter at the forefront of my mind...

    👼🏻

I have an opportunity to host a screening of an award winning documentary called Still Loved, and I'm looking to cover some costs.

The documentary is about baby loss - primarily stillbirth - but despite its topic I can vouch that whilst it is inevitably moving and quite sad at times, it is also very uplifting and educational in terms of what it feels like to lose a baby and how families find positives during a time of great pain.

Currently the BBC and other mainstream stations are refusing to show the documentary based on the fact that it is a topic that is 'too sad' and it shows images of 'dead babies'... well I have images of a 'dead baby' hanging proudly in my house and it isn't nearly as awful as you imagine. Interestingly enough there is some total tripe that TV stations are happy to show and when it comes to entertainment shows such as Eastenders then there seems to be no problem in approaching the subject.

I wholeheartedly believe that stillbirth and baby death is still a taboo at many times and this not only prevents families from receiving the right care and bereavement support, but also hinders research in an area that the UK is miserably failing at preventing compared to other developed countries.

The screening will cost me £150 and I will therefore will need to raise some funds. All family and friends would be invited, anyone who would like to come along whether affected by baby loss directly, indirectly or not at all. It would take place in October, which is not only the month that is dedicated to infant loss awareness, but also the month that Winter turns a heavenly 2 years old. The showing will be at University of Derby Enterprise Centre on Bridge Street on Wednesday 25th at 7pm.
