After the recent pass of John E Evans the Wirksworth Miniature Railway has been struggling to fund its new miniature railway line. The late John Evans started the project as a 5 inch miniature railway, him and his son Owen worked extremely hard to get it up and running.
Sadly John passed away in the middle of September 2016, The railway is now trying to raise funds to build a 7 1/4 miniature railway at Wirksworth station (Ecclesbourne Valley Railway) in memory of John. The railway will run for over 1/2 a mile next to the heritage railway.
