I've raised £500 to fund the planting of trees in the Amazon rainforest by the Surui tribe in Rondonia, Brazil.

The Amazon rainforest is under constant threat from ever-increasing illegal deforestation, as thousands of trees are being illegally cut down or burnt every day. Through the People's University of Fishponds, our wider community is linking with the Surui tribespeople in Rondonia, Brazil who, as guardians of their forest, spend many months of the year growing saplings and re-foresting devastated land to save it for us all.
The whole Surui tribe spend every year growing tree saplings, nurturing & planting them in areas which have been decimated by illegal loggers, and their reforestation efforts ensures the Amazon rainforest remains one of Earth's vital lungs to protect vital species and more ultimately, our global climate stability.
We ask you to please give generously to save part of this vital rainforest in Rondonia which, being part of the wider Amazon rainforest, acts as a lung for the world. Our Fishponds Forest will be mapped on Google Earth within the Surui rainforest by the NGO Aquaverde who support the Surui and other communities across the world.
