Story

The Woad Farm Project was set up by foster carers in Milton Keynes after experiencing first hand the lack of support and activities for young people who are experiencing poor mental health.

The project opened it's doors in September 2022 and has already provided opportunities for hundreds of children and young people to access therapeutic farming activities, caring for our animals alongside session leaders trained in therapeutic approaches and having a safe space to immerse themselves in nature.

We are currently working with some local sponsors and hosting this crowdfunder to bring ducks and chickens to the farm to increase opportunities for children and young people to get involved in farm life and animal care. Most importantly though, we are seeking support to improve access to the farm by sorting some of the drainage issues, and ensuring we have indoor opportunities on hardstanding to allow better access for children and young people (or carers) with mobility issues.

With your support we are excited to continue to grow this project and reach many more young people in MK.
