I've raised £2000 to Assist in the great work of Wokingham in Need.

A generous donation of £250 pounds from Prospect Estate Agency has put us on our way to achieving our total goal of £2,000.
Imagine not having a home. No bed to sleep in, no shower to wash in, no loved ones to care for.
For many in our society that is a reality. And in Wokingham Borough homelessness has soared, with a 600% increase in the number of people needing support in the last seven years.
That is why Wokingham in Need (WIN) and Prospect are arranging a sleep out on Saturday 7th March.
WIN is an initiative founded by local resident Sue Jackson four years ago to help anyone and everyone in need in the Wokingham area. Young or old, suffering mentally or struggling financially, no group is excluded from WIN’s support, and Prospect have been humbled to be involved in WIN’s wide-ranging events, including those relating to homelessness.
As homelessness persists, so does WIN’s efforts to mitigate the issue through projects such as:
- Equipping the Salvation Army on Sturges Road with new facilities
- Opening the Wokingham Drop In Centre for use by the Salvation Army to help the homeless and vulnerable
- Financing a podiatrist to help the homeless and vulnerable
- Assisting with numerous workshops for the homeless
Now we want to raise awareness about the reality of being homeless through a sleep out, right in the centre of Wokingham. All money raised on this Just Giving page and during the sleep out will go towards this fantastic cause and WIN’s future projects.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will make an impact, so we thank you in advance. And don’t forget to come and say hello if you are in central Wokingham on 7th March!
