OUR MISSION

Three Villages Medical Practice & it's Patient Group are working together to raise funds for the purchase and installation of a defibrillator to be based in Wollaston Village.

A defibrillator also known as an AED is a lightweight, portable device that checks the heart's rhythm and sends a shock to the heart to restore a normal rhythm. The device is used to help people who are in cardiac arrest. Each year around 30,000 people in the UK are struck by a sudden cardiac arrest whilst outside of a hospital setting. Using an AED whilst waiting for emergency medical help significantly increases the patient's chance of survival.

Patients of Three Villages Medical Practice and members of the practice staff decided to start a fundraiser to achieve this. The practice is arranging a sponsored walk whilst members of the patient group (PPG) have organised a charity dance.

The defibrillator will be installed in memory of Dr Liz Pope who tragically passed away in 2013. Funds raised will also go towards the installation of a memorial plaque and rose tree in the grounds of Stourbridge Health & Social Care Centre.

It is estimated that the we will need to raise approximately £2500 to achieve our goal.

The Practice and the patient group are hoping that with donations from the sponsored walk, charity dance and donations from the community enough money will be raised to achieve this goal.
It is hoped that the device can be purchased around by December 2019.

Three Villages Medical Practice has donated £350 to kick start the fundraising.
