Story
7 days, 6 nights, – 1 extraordinary North Pole expedition!
The expedition will be led by Ann Daniels, polar explorer, motivational speaker and World Record Holder, who in 2002 was part of an all-female team to reach both the North & South Poles. After meeting Ann, our 2023 'Last Degree' expedition was conceived.
For 7 days, 6 nights our team of 9 ordinary women aged between 25 and 65, will travel 60 nautical miles to the very top of the world, the North Geographic Pole; incorporating skiing and pulling all our own equipment on drifting ice, 24 hours daylight, pressure ridges and ice rubble... all on the frozen Arctic ocean. This is a feat that only a very few have ever undertaken, and as with all great rewards there will be many obstacles including the threat of frost bite, polar bear attacks, and generally freezing to death!
Teamwork will be essential, not just during the trip, but in the year beforehand, to reach our target and of course ensuring we are fit enough to take on the challenge itself.

Why?
We are all passionate about Climate Change and Women’s Empowerment.
'The Arctic is warming faster than any other region on Earth, and the world is already feeling the effects" (arcticwwf.org)
Currently, summer sea ice in the Arctic is disappearing. The latest prediction is that the arctic ocean could be completely ice free by 2035 in the summer months. This is a terrifying thought, and why we are so passionate about raising awareness and the impact of climate change.
Empowering women and girls and achieving gender equality are crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies.(britishcouncil.org)
We want to bring both a voice and inspiration to the narrative around female empowerment and impact societal change.
