I've raised £1000 to Fund a charity to Liberate Young Women trafficked from Donne Di Benin City, Nigeria to Palermo, Sicily to work as sex slaves.

In July to September 2017, I represented The Ubele Initiative in Palermo, Sicily as a worker on the Pan European Pandora Project . The hosting organisation was Human Rights Youth Organisation HRYO based in Palermo. I met many social enterprise organisations who delivered skills training, advice and support to young people and disadvantaged communities. I engaged with them to strengthen their practices and business structures.
When I sat with "The Women for Benin City Project", I was struck by the simplicity of the women, and their ambition to provide support to young women who are being trafficked for sex work. I met with them a few times, and the tales of suffering were difficult to listen to, and as an empath, it took me a few weeks to lift my mood, and figure out what more I could do to help these women, support new entrants to this horror. The money donated will enable their organisation to provide the resources they need to deliver more support to women in need. The flyer below, is what they use to promote their Wednesday drop in centre, courtesy of a room provided by a church. They need sewing machines, Italian language tutors, toiletries for women, legal fees, accommodation and cultural wellbeing and so much more.
We really appreciate your support and please share with others too ;)
