🏀 Support the Bromsgrove Bears Women in Division 1! 🐻

We are pleased to announce that the Bromsgrove Bears Women’s Basketball Team has just been promoted to Division 1 in the WNBL for the forthcoming 2025/26 Season— the highest level in the National Basketball League for women outside of the WBBL. This is a huge step forward not only for our team, but for women’s basketball in the West Midlands.

Why We are Fundraising?

To compete at this level, we need your help. We are looking to raise £3,000 to support our women’s team for the upcoming season. These funds will go directly toward:

• Game Day Costs (venue hire, officials, logistics)

• Kit and Equipment (including sponsor-brands)

• Live Game Coverage (all games will be streamed or recorded, offering high visibility to sponsors and fans)

• Extra game day officials costs - statistics for live stats and post game analysis across the league

• Marketing & Promotion to boost the profile of women’s basketball locally

• Role Model Programmes — using our women’s team to inspire and engage more girls aged 12+ in basketball

• Growing the Game for Girls

The Bromsgrove Bears club is home to 17 teams across all ages and genders — girls, boys, women, and men. Our women’s team is the highest-level team in the club, and the success provides a direct pathway for younger players to aim higher.

These teams start from U12 upwards with girls starting from as young as 7 years within the club.

By supporting the Bears, you are empowering the next generation of female athletes, especially in Birmingham and surrounding areas, where basketball opportunities for girls can be limited.

Women's basketball is growing, but still underfunded.

Representation matters: our Division 1 players serve as direct role models for the younger girls in our club and community with four members of the team already coaching within the club! With 6 females coaching overall!
