    Story

The Mary Waya Netball Academy needs your help - PLEASE give us a High5!

The Womens' Sports Network (WSNet) has partnered with Mary Waya Foundation (MYF) to translate NETBALLMoJo into Chichewa (The principal language in Malawi) and produce NETBALLMoJo to distribute FREE to the netballing community in Malawi.

NETBALLMoJo is an inspiring educational resource that has been voluntarily written by top sport scientists, leading coaches and educational tutors. NETBALLMoJo aims to empower girls and women with information on how to be the best netballer they can be, while also gently building confidence to tackle specific female challenges in sport and life.

The challenges facing women and girls in Malawi are very different from our young women in Europe and USA. With your “High 5!” help, we can expand the NETBALLMoJo to inspire young women in Malawi to be great netballers but also adapt NETBALLMoJo to help deal with cultural issues around child marriage/'beading', FMG and safeguarding. Malawi is not only the third poorest country in the world but also has slow and expensive internet - making it difficult for rural comunities to get this information.

    "My body, my choice"

Your High 5! will make a difference to young women by not only offering practical advice around menstruation and personal wellbeing but also offer guiding principles around sensitive cultural issues. Understanding that you don’t have to get married at 12 or how young girls can cope with menstruation each month when they own no underwear will help girls cope with day to day living.

This project will not only benefit young women but also help ALL women in local communities learn that it is OK to say NO! So give our girls a “High 5!” donation and you'll be helping young women in Malawi with an opportunity to be great netballers and live better lives.

With your help WSNet can -

Your High5! will let us update, translate & extend NETBALLMoJo in Chichewa, re-shoot the pix, print & deliver 1000 copies to the Mary Waya Netball Academy in Lilongwe, Malawi.

If you donate £15+ - please send a street address to info@WSNet.co.uk & we'll send you a copy of NETBALLMoJo plus a FREE I LOVE NETBALL sticker!
