Story

Hi guys, as you know every year I set myself a massive challenge to raise funds for the Skem Menaces Disabled Football club which I manage but this year I've decided to support an adorable little 5-year-old girl from Upholland called Lily Mae, who has a very rare condition called Cockayne Syndrome type 2. Sadly this means that life expectancy is around 7 years of age. Only 2 to 3 people per million worldwide will be affected by CS.

I've also decided to support a wonderful charity called Amy and Friends, which was founded by the amazing Jayne Hughes and named after her incredible and inspirational daughter Amy, who had Cockayne Syndrome. At the age of 28 years, Amy gained her angel wings last year. To understand more about Cockayne Syndrome click >>> HERE

Once again I am asking for your support as I prepare for what is going to be my toughest challenge of all, a grueling and body crunching TOUGH MUDDER obstacle course on September 4th, all served up with mud, endless mud!-

I will be really out of my comfort zone with this challenge (as well as out of my wheelchair chair!) as I approach each obstacle and I will have to remove my prosthetic leg to get myself over and under the obstacles in my way. I seriously wonder whether this enormous task is within my own capabilities and the chronic pain I experience on a daily basis is a real concern.

My missus Mim will also be taking on the challenge to support me and my son Carl as well as his mate Kyle will be coming home from Belfast also to take it on and help me to try and get around. I may need a bit more muscle to help get my unique frame around the course, so a couple of lads from the Menaces will also be supporting.

Please, your support means everything, not only to me but to everyone connected with the Menaces and more importantly little Lily. I fully accept that we have all faced difficult times but if you could spare a quid or two I would be forever grateful.

Follow me on Facebook for all the details.

Thank you all

Carl
