Story
Just under a third of pupils at our school 'never' or 'rarely' read for enjoyment (98 out of 308 respondents). More than 70% said that the reason for this was a lack of access to quality reading books at home or that they hadn't yet found a book that excited them.
We want to raise funds to promote reading for pleasure in our school.
With your help, we will develop a library hub at the heart of our school as a space that pupils can come and browse a range of high-quality, diverse books, spend time relaxing, reading and talking about books.
We are a large, diverse school with over 600 pupils who speak 33 different languages. £10 will buy three books. £20 will buy a set of books for group reading. £50 will go towards developing our dual-language reading material. We plan to spend half of the money on books and the remaining money on front facing bookshelves and seating areas.
