(Follow on to previous just giving link where £1350 has been raised)
In early 2025, the annual Woodland Warrior "BIG WINTER YOMP" will take place across the North of England from Coast to Coast.
Former Royal Marines Nick Goldsmith and Karl Hodder will this year take on 315km of Wainwrights coast to coast.
Starting in St Bees and finishing in Robin Hood bay.
By choosing to keep this Challenge on British home soil and thus zero airmiles in the process, this helps to uphold our commitment to the conservation of our environment.
With both servicemen having been injured in active service overseas, this undertaking amidst the depths of British Winter, will be an adventurous challenge in its truest sense!
100% of all funds will go directly to The Woodland Warrior Programme CIC
The Woodland Warrior Programme CIC creates connection and promotes mental wellbeing through therapeutic outdoor nature based activities such as bushcraft, the operation of a smallholding, bee keeping, wild cooking, hedgelaying, stone walling and tree planting to name a few.
The aim is the conservation of both people and our natural environment.
Courses are FREE to all beneficiaries and so the organisation relies solely on grants and donations.
Just £5000 will allow the WWP to support 30 beneficiaries for one whole year.
Courses include: Tree Planting , Nature Recovery work , Greenwood Carving , Basket weaving , Leathercraft , Traditional Hedgelaying, Bee Keeing and Dry Stone walling
