I'm raising £500 to Support the Brain Tumour Trust, LILAC and West Norfolk Autism Group

Organised by Pat Brown

Story

This isn’t just a walk—it’s a celebration of creativity, connection and cause. Participants will take to the streets of our beautiful historic town wearing their most fabulous, quirky, elegant or outrageous hats. From fascinators to flat caps, fedoras to full-on showstoppers… anything goes, as long as there’s a hat involved!

Our route is a relaxed one-mile stroll through the heart of Fakenham. Along the way, we’ll pause at the UK’s only Gas Museum for photos, gather in the market square, and finish at the church where everyone can enjoy well-earned teas, coffees and a picnic together.

While the atmosphere is light-hearted, the purpose behind it is deeply meaningful. We are proud to be raising awareness and funds for:

The Brain Tumour Charity, supporting those affected by brain tumours worldwide

Local causes close to our hearts, including Ladies in League Against Cancer and West Norfolk Autism Group

How you can help:

Right now, the most powerful way to support this event is by making a donation. Every pound raised helps fund vital support, raise awareness, and make a real difference—both globally and right here in our community.

If you’d like to join us on the walk, you’re very welcome. You can register to take part here:

So whether you walk, donate, or do both—thank you. Because sometimes, making a difference starts with something as simple as putting on a hat… and choosing to support a cause that matters.
