Hello, I'm Jenetta Barry, Founder of World Jenny's Day. On 10 October, 16 years ago, I lost my 16-year-old daughter to suicide.
During the deep depression that followed, when grief took over my entire being, I lost my marriage, home, lifestyle, livelihood, other family interactions… the black hole I was in seemed endless.
But black holes are not endless— not in the universe, nor in our souls.
It's been said that destruction is the mother of creation. The medium of Theatre and the Arts is a powerful forum to provide subtle and yet deeply impactful insight and solutions to creating mental health wellness.
Prophetically, 10 October is World Mental Health Day and so we now have World Jenny's Day where we deliver a message of hope as well as provide accurate solutions through discussion panels with people who have insightfully moved through their challenges and are living inspired and empowered lives.
The World Jenny's Day Butterfly Trophy is awarded annually ahead of 10 October, aqt the closing Ceremony of the GetFitForJenny79 Fundraising Cycle Safari held in Kenya Game Parks.

About the fundraiser
World Jenny's Day Fundraiser
World Jenny's Day is held every 10 October. Funds raised for this day are used on the day, using theatre and the arts, to soften conversations around depression and suicide, and to provide solutions to those who feel compromised and to those who are caring for the compromised.
