I have been offered a unique opportunity by World Challenge to go help and support communities in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Whilst in these countries, I will be staying in youth hostels, trying the local food and most importantly helping those who are living in deprived areas. The aim of this trip is so I can help build new houses, classrooms and shelters; teach literacy and numeracy skills to the children in the local areas and to help bring joy and fun to the communities. By doing this I am helping other people who are living in deprived conditions, allowing me to understand what their every day lives are like and how they are able to cope with the poor living conditions. This trip will encourage me to step out of my comfort zone and go beyond the limits I thought I was capable of. I want to be able to help the less fortunate and by completing World Challenge, I will achieve this goal and create memories which I will cherish forever.
