In July 2018, I will be taking part in a World Challenge expedition to Nicaragua, where I will be helping the community by undertaking voluntary work in a local school - e.g. teaching English to children and helping to build new facilities. Nicaragua is still a developing country, and poor compared to its neighbours, so working with the local people will help me to become familiar with their way of life and the problems they face.

The World Challenge scheme is designed to encourage teenagers like me to become more independent and build team and leadership skills by immersing us in challenging situations in an unfamiliar environment and culture.

In order to make this trip, I need to raise £3,150 by fundraising in my local community, so I've been very busy over the last few months doing car-washing, cake sales, fete stalls and all sorts of other things and to date I have reached just over half of my target!

My next fund raising activity is the Tough Mudder 5 mile challenge and I am hoping that you will be able to help by sponsoring me to complete this. Any contribution at all will be massively appreciated.

Tough Mudder is a 5 mile mud and obstacle course designed to test my physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. With no winners, or clocks to race against, it’s not about how fast I can cross the finish line it’s a challenge that emphasizes teamwork, helping each other through it , and accomplishing something so it will be great preparation for my World Challenge trip as these are just a few of the skills that I will need.
