Hey! My name is Mya, currently I`m in 4th year at High school and in June 2017 I`ll be travelling to Morocco to help out in communities.

I signed up to do this with World Challenge because I think it would be an AMAZING opportunity to learn about different cultures and their customs.
I also chose to do this because I want to help those less fortunate than myself, and what better way to do that by going out there myself to see the positive outcomes my actions and my team`s will make.

Whilst on this trip, myself and my team will be pushed to our limits, both physically and mentally.
During the 1st week of the 2 week expedition we`ll be visiting one the rural areas outside of Marrakech, where we`ll be helping out in the community by building, painting and plumbing.
Then on the 2nd week, we`ll be hiking through the Atlas Mountains which runs for 2500km through Northern Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. We`ll be camping in the mountains throughout the week and learning about the Berber people`s way of life.

In preparation for this I`ve joined a gym so I can become fitter and build my stamina for the trip. I also play netball for my school and my county, and I`m doing my Duke of Edinburgh Silver award, so I'm already physically active.
Fundraising wise, I`m abseiling down the Titan Crane in Glasgow next April and I plan to organise events for the future aswell.

I`ve set up this page to help fundraise money for me to go on this trip, as one of the most important outcomes is to learn life skills and to take on responsibilities, fundraising for this trip being one of many.

I`ll be updating this page on a regular basis with current news on my fitness progress and fundraising.
Also, I will be setting up a Dare to Donate page were you can make donations, that all goes to the trip, and I`ll do the most popular dares in return.
