There are countless innocent children who have been unfortunate enough to have lost either one or both of their parents amid constant war and civil unrest in Iraq.

More recently, many of these orphans have suffered the trauma and heartbreak of losing their beloved parents in the struggle against ISIS. As a result, these orphans are plunged into poverty and left to fend for themselves – distressed, helpless, alone.

Arham Haidri will be running 80km from Najaf to Karbala, to help raise funds for the World of Orphans Project under Muslim Youth Forum (Charity No. 1001143).

Of the five planned floors of the Awlad Orphanage, two still need to be built to complete the construction. This will enable a total of 600 orphans to be housed and educated. They currently live with relatives or alone in makeshift huts.

These projects cost a substantial amount and can only be completed with your assistance. We urge you to please donate as much as you possibly can to help provide the orphans of Karbala with the accommodation of which they are desperately in need, as well as an adequate education that will help them build a more promising future for themselves. Whatever you can afford to give – even if it is a little – will go a long way towards bettering the lives of these orphans.
