I've raised £2000 to make a difference to parent carers of children and young people with children and young people with disabilities and/or SEN in Wiltshire.

Being a parent carer of a child or young person with a disability and/or Special Educational Needs can be exhausting, rewarding and painful all mixed up together.
The demands on parent carers can affect family and social relationships and increase feelings of being overwhelmed, alone and struggling to access support. Being a parent carer can mean there are high levels of demands on their time and energy which can have an impact on their health and ability to care for their child. Often, because of their caring commitments, parent carers have no choice but to give up work to meet the needs of their children; this can have a significant impact on family income and make it very difficult to pay for the simple things (such as clubs, days out and activities for their children to attend) that many of us take for granted.
Sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference which is why we want to set up a small fund so that parent carers who need a little bit of help, for instance a small contribution towards the cost of a much needed family holiday, a piece of specialist equipment, or a little help with the cost of a day out as a family, can access the little bit of financial help that might make a huge difference.
All money raised will sit in a fund for parent carers to apply for to help meet some of the needs of their children that other benefits and grants are unable to help with.
We would be so grateful for any support you could give us towards our cause.
Donations can be as small as £2.00, simply click on the purple DONATE button, then type the amount you want to donate in the empty box below the 'Donation Amounts' boxes.
Every little helps - thank you.
