Story

Beginning on Friday 27th August 2021, 15 members from Whitehaven RUFC will embark on a mammoth charity event to cycle to each of the 22 Rugby Union clubs in the county covering 291 miles in 3 days. The aim of this is to raise as much funds as possible for 3 fantastic organisations through crowdfunding, clothing donations, sponsorship forms and other donations from the public. Our chosen charities & organisations are:

• Great North Air Ambulance Service - GNAAS plays an integral role in the regional response to a major incident, working closely with the North West Ambulance Service to provide advanced medical care to those who need it at the scene. But the charity is also involved in both regional and national groups looking at the operational, tactical and strategic implications of major incidents and the optimal way of managing these.

• Time to Share Bereavement Services - For children aged 3 – 18 living in the Copeland area of Cumbria, who have experienced a bereavement or loss which is significant to them. The services offered include individual and group child-led play therapy in schools or other appropriate settings and a community group for children and their parents/carers after school, lasting for eight weeks.

• Whitehaven RUFC & Whitehaven RUFC Youth Section

We would like to request your assistance in helping us reaching our goal of £5,000.
