Story

Hello, I am Sam Pilkington-Wood and I have been lucky enough to be one of the 63 out of 200 scouts from Devon that have been selected to go to the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 that will be held in West Virginia. However for me to actually be able to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event I have to raise £4,100 by July next year. As you an tell that is not a small amount of money for a thirteen year old to raise in just over a year, so in order to help me achieve this goal I have been doing weekly beach cleans not only to raise money but also to help the planet.

In 2016 I suffered from a head injury that then led to me having a bead on my brain, I had to have brain sugery after a month of constant head aches, nausea and tierdness.

I was off school for a very long time and I got very weak, mentally and physically. I had to get used to walking again and my speach was quite slow. I still have difficulties remembering things and my consentration is quite bad. However this life changing trip could help me build my confidence back up and with my weekly beach cleans I would not only be helping myself but I would be spreading a very important message.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you could give a small dontion it would make the world of difference.
