Xcel Gymnastics' Trampoline & DMT Squad has had more than its fair share of ups and downs (and there are a lot of those on the trampoline!) but through the dedication and determination of our small team of volunteer coaches & officials, helpers, parents and gymnasts we have bounced back every time and done so with style - with even the most basic of equipment and bare bones coaching team we have turned out regional team representatives and national finalists year on year and enjoy excellent results in regional competition.

In 2015 we found ourselves without a training venue and with only one trampoline for the whole squad to work on. Yet again the Xcel team pulled together and we finally found ourselves a new venue to move into at the end of 2015. We've begged and borrowed training time and equipment from other local clubs to keep the squad going (HUGE shout out to Portsmouth Trampoline Club, Starlight Trampolining & Gymnastics and Swallows TC for their support) and now we need to secure our future by purchasing the equipment we've been loaned and buying some further essential matting and safety kit to allow our quickly progressing gymnasts to continue training and build bigger skills.

This community fundraising is part of a larger project to eventually purchase proper competition standard equipment for the squad to train on and to grow our offering to provide recreational trampolining opportunities for the local community. The £6,100 will provide us with two second-hand trampolines and all of the safety matting needed to go on and around the trampolines to kick start the project and ensure the future of trampolining at Xcel Gymnastics.

Our coaches and gymnasts will be organising their own fundraising events to help reach our target and we’ve already raised over £2000 in the last few months through donations, sponsorship, events and sales. Huge thank you to those who have donated already!
