Friends...
I've joined a fantastic charity called Contact the Elderly and I would love your help.
They arrange for those that live on their own, over 75 and find it difficult to get out and about a lifeline.
I collect Vera, Rebecca and Margaret once a month and take them to a hosts house for afternoon tea. There's about 10 'oldies' in our local group each month and whilst it's just a few hours out of my day, for them it's invaluable. (You should see the smiles!)

On 11th December we're hosting a Xmas lunch and all the groups in the area are meeting at a pub in Hornchurch. The actual lunch is funded by donations and so whilst we'll gladly accept more that's not why I'm writing.

Each month we organise a small raffle. Most of the prizes are less than £5 (normally a tin of sweets, biscuits, bottle of wine or a toiletry set).
They'll be about 50-60 oldies at the Xmas lunch and I'm hoping that instead of one or two smiles, all of them can win a prize to take home.

I'd love to say you'll get a photo and a regular update from your oldie... ( i used to sponsor a donkey when i was 8) but you won't. Some of them won't remember they've even won a prize but when their chomping on a Celebration or a shortbread biccie, I can assure you they'll be appreciative.

I'm hoping you'd be happy to donate £5 or as little as you can afford. I've already had an amazing response and the more we raise, the more groups we can help.

P.s. For those that live local and would rather buy something for the raffle thats cool too. You can drop them off before the day!
