Having now settled into our new home at Tatenhill Airfield our focus now turns to the ongoing maintenance of the jet and the equipment required to keep her running. The sad truth is that operating and maintaining a vintage jet aircraft not only requires a lot of time and effort it’s also requires a continuing cash flow. Below are just a few examples of how our funds and the generosity of supporters have been used so far to get us operational:

• Move to Tatenhill £14,500, fully crowdfunded thanks to the amazing generosity of our supporters

• Purchase of a second hand Mk12A STAD plus work to make it serviceable (air starter trolley) £300 funded by the XX900 crew and brought back to service by the team.

• Purchase of a second-hand GPU (ground power unit): £1600 funded by the XX900 crew.

• Repair and refurbishment of the air hose jet coupling £150 generously carried out at cost by MTDS Ltd with the rest funded by XX900 crew

• Fuel for 1 engine run and functional test: £200 funded by XX900 crew

• New wide doors for our store allowing us to keep the GSE under cover: kindly supplied and fitted by a supporter of the aircraft

• Second-hand aircraft tug and several items of GSE: on long term loan from the Classic Jets Collection at Bruntingthorpe
