My name is Yas Waldie. I live in South Derbyshire, but I am going on the trip of a lifetime in 2018 - to Kenya. I have been accepted onto the month long trip that is being organised by my school with an organisation called Camps International, and now I need to raise some money to help fund the adventure.
The main aim of the trip is to help with projects that will have life changing impacts on local communities. The projects include the building of school classrooms or kindergartens, constructing community housing from local materials for some of the poorest families, installing and improving local amenities to improve health, helping to provide fresh drinking water to local communities and assisting with environmental protection projects to protect local wildlife.
I would be very grateful for any contribution that you can make to help me get to Kenya. I need to raise £4,000 for the trip and equipment. Over 40% of the cost of the trip is directly invested in local economies, communities, wildlife and environmental conservation by Camps International.
While in Kenya, I will also learn to scuba dive - through a Padi Openwater Dive Course and go on safari to view the wildlife of Kenya.
What am I looking forward to most of all? All of it really. But highlights will be meeting the Maasai tribe, seeing the wildlife, diving and meeting the local children.
Thank you for reading this note and thank you for any contribution that you are able to make that will support me and support the local communities in Kenya that we help.
