I've raised £2000 to provide dolls for people with Dementia, to give them unmedicated comfort & companionship and help raise awareness.

Her doll or 'her Toto' (swahilli for baby) as she likes to call her, is her best friend. She goes everywhere with her, cuddles her at night and keeps Mum happy. Her doll gives her something to worry about and to look after. It feeds her maternal instincts and she feeds her, dresses her and makes a fuss over her. It's harmless and brings her so much joy and peace. When you have Dementia, finding peace isn't easy. The mental turmoil and struggle is real and distressing for all, especially Mum. We struggled for many years and when Toto came along, she helped us all.
Seeing someone close to you lose their faculties is really hard which is why we need to do something about it. We want all Mums and Dads with Dementia and Alzheimers to have a Toto or a pet to love and nuture which is why we have set up this page.
We want to donate 1000's of dolls and pets to people who need them across the Country. We're asking for your help financially but also with your contacts. If you know someone who will benefit please get in touch so we can donate a doll to them. We can work together to help spread a little bit of peace and support to all the family.
If you work in an office that uses stationery please check this out and spread the word too - it's my purpose and why I do what I do https://www.ethicalstationery.com/dementia-dolls/
Thank you, Yasmin x
