Story

My father was diagnosed with Stage 1 Lung Cancer in late 2015. In May 2016, he underwent Lobectomy surgery - which is to remove the lobe of the lung where the cancer is present . The surgery was a success however the surgeons also detected lymph nodes within my fathers wind pipe. The lymph nodes was not removed as it was not large enough to extract. After several months of recovery, my father was then rushed into hospital in the August 2017 as his condition deteriorated. After spending 3 weeks in hospital and several tests later, he was diagnosed with Metastatic Lung cancer and Squamous cell skin Cancer (Stage 4).

Metastatic Lung cancer occurs when the lung cancer cells break away from a tumor and travels to the other parts of the body through the blood or lymph system. Unfortunately for my father, the cancer has now progressed to the hips, abdomen, Kidney and Skin. In the midst of this, he has also fractured his hip as his bones have now become extremely fragile due to the cancer and radiotherapy thus making him bed bound and unable to walk.

My father is 79 years old and has been battling cancer for the past 2 years. Although he is a fighter, he has been given a very short prognosis (days/weeks) with the cancer being agressive and incurable at stage 4.

I'd like to commemorate my father by building a water well (if not several water wells) for those in need in Bangladesh. This gift will ensure that families will have access to clean water for drinking, washing and cooking, as well as keeping livestock hydrated.

I kindly ask you to dig deep in your pockets to help me raise money for this cause. I'd appreciate all the help I can get. Even the smallest of donations can makes a world of difference.

Please kindly keep my father in your prayers over the next few weeks.
