I've raised £1000 to fund the 2025 Lovebrook Women's Wellbeing In Nature course.

My name is Yazmin and I am running the Brighton 10K on April 6th to raise funds for the 2025 Lovebrook Women's Wellbeing In Nature course.
This is a therapeutic well-being course, aimed at helping women who may be facing challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, social isolation or chronic illness. This is a free course, offering women group support when they may not be able to access or afford therapy.
These courses are based at Lovebrook - a not for profit ecological community project - set in 33 acres of beautiful nature in Kingston, Lewes, surrounded by the South Downs. (www.lovebrook.org)
Each week a facilitator works through a range of techniques to help the course participants improve their mental health. Each session has a different theme and works on creating a mental health toolkit while giving the group space and time to focus on their wellbeing in a safe enviroment.
I have personally felt the benefits of the course when i applied for the Women's Wellbeing in Nature in 2023, I had just lost my dad to early onset dementia and was feeling very lost in my grief. I was struggling to access therapy due to the cost's but knew i needed help navigating this difficult time. The course was a weekly lifeline. It was a space where i didnt need to hide my grief and i learnt different skills to help me move forward. The bonus was i also met a wonderful group of women, althought everyone had joined for thier own reasons the support i felt was immense.
Sadly our orignal grant that funded the course has come to an end, which has put the 2025 course in a precarious position, So when I saw that the incredible Enjoolata Foundation were offering to match donations for anyone who wanted to run the Brighton 10K I knew it was worth a shot!
So if you are able to donate, even a little amount. Not only will it get doubled (thankyou Enjoolata) but most importantly this wonderful course will run again!
Massive Thankyou!
Yazmin
