Story
Are we too small to make a difference? We are trying to prove that we are not. Everyone has a time to shine and now it's yours. Help us to help others.
Year 4 at East Borough have been looking at ways we can make a difference to other people's lives. We have made links with Simooya Community School in Zambia by donating our pre-loved school uniform to the students. We have since found out they need much more than this. There is more work to be done. The children are not as lucky as us in many ways. For example, they do not have a clean and safe place to eat. We really want to help their wishes come true and raise money to help them build a kitchen and dining hall. Chibozu Community Trust are a charity who do incredible work for Simooya School. We want to support them in raising money for this worthwhile cause.
Some of the students at Simooya School have to walk 8km twice a day to get to school and back. They often do this on an empty stomach because their families cannot afford to provide food. Imagine you were a child desperate to go to school and you faced challenges like this. We can't let this continue and desperately want to help.
We have decided to hold a fun run on our school field where we will walk or run 8km. Please donate to our cause to help change children's lives. We know we can make a difference, but we need help to do it. Every penny counts so please give whatever you can.
