Story

On Friday 8th September 2017, the world lost two of our good ones, Prakash Tharu and Umesh Chaudhary.

Prakash ran Arabian Nights in Agonda, Goa for almost a decade, a familiar face throughout the community. Umesh worked in the kitchen and although didnt speak english always greated us with a smile and had a beautiful gentle soul.

For the Agonda family, Prakash is truly loved, a beautiful soul who bought joy and laughter to everyone he met, through his tenacious spirit, jesting, joking, laughs and giggles.

Prakash, has been a pillar of the Agonda family and is also a family man in the traditional sense as well. Sadly, he leaves behind his wife and two young boys in Nepal.

Prakash died following a serious road traffic incident in India, when the vehicle he was a passenger in collided with an oil tanker, approximately 40 kilometres from the border of Nepal. Witnesses have informed us that Prakash was alive, although seriously injured, for some time after the collision. He instructed someone to make a telephone call to his family on his behalf. When the Police arrived, they refused to take him to the hospital fearing damage to the hospitals reputation if he had died there. Instead, they loaded him into a police truck with the deceased and took him to a local police station. If Prakash had been taken to hospital and had received the medical attention he deserved, he may have lived.

The Agonda family and community wish to demonstrate how much he means to us by supporting his family with living costs and the legal fees that will be required surrounding the gross failure of the Police. We would like to reach out to the Agonda community and afar to raise money to support his family through this extremely difficult time.

Please donate any amount.
