I've raised £2500 to support the LFC Foundation, Macmillan and St. John’s Hospice Wirral

We (Janine and Damian) are taking on the mighty Kilimanjaro in October 2018 to raise vital funds for three charities very close to our hearts: The LFC Foundation, official charity of Liverpool Football Club, Macmillan Cancer Support and Wirral Hospice St. John‘s.
We are funding the trip ourselves, which means 100% of your donation will support our charities.

Janine: I’m raising money for the LFC Foundation and Macmillan.
October 2018 marks 10 years since my beautiful Mum, Jenny, passed away after a difficult and very brave battle with the big C. This is a real **** of a disease. Cruel, debilitating and packaged with some pretty awful treatments and side effects. Needless to say, the Macmillan nurses were literally like angels and I don‘t know how we would have managed to get through those horrendously difficult days without them.
If Mum can go through all of that, while managing to keep so strong for us and even with a smile on her face, then I can haul my backside up and down that mountain to help raise money for other families facing this journey.
I’m in the very lucky position to work for the LFC Foundation, and see first-hand how the amazing LFC family come together to create life changing opportunities for children and young people.
Being part of Liverpool Football Club is being like part of a family - we help each other and particularly those in need. As a life-long Red who has had good opportunities in life, it's really important to me that I can give something back.

Similarly to Janine, 2018 is also a poignant year for me.
I lived with me Nan for a lot of my childhood and this year it is 20 years since she passed away. St. John’s made sure her final few weeks were calm and comfortable and I’m forever thankful for care she received.
I’m also raising money for the LFC Foundation. I work in the local youth sector and see how football and the LFC badge engages children and young people, especially those hardest to reach.
50% of the total funds raised will be donated to the LFC Foundation, 25% to Macmillan Cancer Support and 25% to St.John's Hospice.
If you wish to split your donation differently, then just let us know in the comments section.
The LFC Foundation's mission is to bring together the LFC family to create life changing opportunities for children and young people. Funds raised help support their wide range of programmes and partnerships.
Last season the LFC Foundation supported 15,500 individual children and young people, filling 140,000 places on their programmes. The team delivered over 75 sessions a week working directly in schools and communities.
Macmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.
St. John's Hospice provide free care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
