I've raised £1200 to help raise the funds for a new automated external defibrillator (AED) for the York RI Rugby Club.

York RI RUFC is raising funds to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) so that it can respond to any emergencies in the most effective manner.
On Sunday 24th April 2022, an incident happened during the RI Ladies game against Ryton, where a member of the opposition collapsed and stopped breathing on the pitch. Thankfully, with the resourcefulness and courage of some of the players and supporters, the player was revived and was taken to hospital where she is now recovering. The way that everyone responded to the incident was testimony to the values and dedication of the club and those involved, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they did that day.
The club was lucky enough to have access to an AED, and without one the outcome could have been very different - along with CPR, it literally saved a person's life.
We are now raising money for a second AED for the club and surrounding communities so that we are always equipped should an emergency arise. The initial cost of an AED is approximately £1200 and there is also additional upkeep costs. Any donations for such an important piece of equipment would be greatly appreciated.
