Story
The annual York Cycle Rally has been an institution in York since 1945 and has run every year, with few exceptions, on the Knavesmire Race Course for both local residents and those from further afield. For thousands of cyclists it is a cherished event that sadly was cancelled in 2013 by the former organisers. In 2014 a group of volunteers formed to resurrect the event and the rally has been successfully staged in 2015, 2016 and 2017. However, it has become apparent that to grow the event to previous levels and make improvements, external funding must be sought. The current group of volunteers has been responsible for fund raising, obtaining sponsorship, direct funding and never claiming out of pocket expenses to ensure that the rally goes ahead. We need your help to ensure that this event does not die. Funding will help us ensure the future of the rally for years to come, grow and improve the event to encourage even more people into cycling.
