Story
In memory of an inspirational young man who sadly left this world far too soon…
Mr Said “Hussain” Amiri
Hussain was born with a complex heart condition and underwent countless heart procedures and operations throughout his life. He did this with a smile and a cheeky sense of humour, never complaining, always polite and considerate and always looking on the bright side. He will be greatly missed within the congenital heart disease team and wider community.
Hussain was passionate about improving health care and standards across the NHS to all patients, not just cardiac patients.
He was especially keen to improve the care and facilities offered to young patients when admitted to hospital…
And so to keep his dream alive...
* Beth and Sarah (Hussain's heart specialist nurses)
* Cardiology Consultant Dr Wallis
*Nicky Thompson (Cardiology ward nurse)
*Elizabeth Corris (ACHD co-ordinator)
are all challenging themselves and running 13.2 miles at the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 7th 2018.
They will be raising vital funds for ‘essential stuff’ for young people to brighten up their hospital stay … They are hoping to buy much needed bits for the wards i.e. TV, i pad, dvd player, art work, camp bed for parents to stay etc.
They would greatly appreciate your support and would love to see you cheering them on, on October 7th!!!
