Radio Skye is looking to raise £2000 to support our award winning YouthSPACE Training Programme which champions young people to learn news skills in presenting, broadcasting, podcasting, editing, audio production and social media handling alongside increasing confidence, self esteem and giving a young people an opportunity to find their voice and express themselves on issues that effect young people in our community.

The programme was initiated in 2023 and holds a gold award for Community Impact Project of the Year in 2024 in the UK Community Radio Awards.

This year we launched Young Women in Radio, a new project strand of YouthSPACE to encourage more girls into radio broadcasting and hosted our first YouthSPACE Conference in March 2026 'GreenSPACE' which partnered with sustainable organisation across Skye and Lochalsh.

Radio Skye is committed to sustaining YouthSPACE and this year we want to support more young people through the training programme but we need your help. With funding becoming more and more competitive, its difficult to keep a programme that is already in existence going and we hope you can help by donating just a little bit to support the work we do.

All money raised will go to paying to keep our two amazing YouthSPACE Mentors in their role along with paying for travel costs to get out and about in the community to do school visits and one to one sessions.

On Friday the 5th of June, our YouthSPACE team will be doing a radio takeover from 7am until 6pm, broadcasting live throughout and covering all our main features; news, weather, traffic and whats on, giving them an opportunity to showcase their skills! Please do tune in and please donate!
