Story
Hello,
My name is Yasmin and I am a secondary teacher at Blue Coat School in Coventry. As a school community, we work to fund raise money to help build, maintain and develop educational provisions in Liberia. As a teacher, I have a personal connection to this cause as I value the need for education and am deeply saddened that this is not something every child in our world is able to access. This is why when my half asleep self was approached in the early morning as to whether or not I would do a sponsored Loop the Loop in a plane despite being an anxious flyer and having a passionate dislike for being upside down...I said yes! (What have I done?!)
Liberia’s education system was devastated during the civil war and then during the recent Ebola Outbreak. Communities have been left with one of the worst education provisions and deliveries in the world. The school system remains in a deficit of disarray and many of the outside international directed systems have merits but in the immediacy and expense of their response lack sustainability.
Concrete Foundation School in Cotton Tree has moved forward to improve the provision and quality of education and due to the rise in amount of students, the need for a purpose built primary classrooms exists.
A six room Primary school for 180 girls and boys will transform the environment and help students learn and teachers teach. That is just £40 a child for a school building .
Please donate, share this page and feel free to come and witness me being flown loop by loop across the sky screaming "I will survive" so loudly you will probably here from the airfield!
Thank you for reading and helping me to raise this money, my target is £500!
All my love,
Yasmin
