Story
We, as a school, will be travelling to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, with the goal of helping deprived and uneducated communities, we will travel for four weeks, over camps in Ecuador and on the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador is a country where 50% of teenagers have no way of accessing secondary education, and at about my age, they are put to work in jobs that are heavy labour, and dangerous for a young teenager, whilst we have the luxury of free education. By going to Ecuador we will be building, rebuilding and refurbishing these classrooms and schools, in turn, we will leave a legacy for these kids that spans many years, just from building desks and chairs. Deforestation, a problem that is rife all over the world, but especially in South America and the Amazon Rainforest, because of illegal logging and illegal produce farming (e.g. Palm Oil Products) the area of three football fields can be gone in less than ten minutes, so to combat this, we will be planting trees in this area, and the organisation I will be travelling with, Camps International, have already planted over 1 million trees in ten different camps worldwide. Travelling to Ecuador will be an eye opener for me, and a big draw for this trip was going to the Galapagos Islands, to observe and clear marine waste and to be somewhere so utterly beautiful, I couldn't pass up on the opportunity, the £4960 is for myself, that is how much I will have to raise to go to Ecuador in the summer of 2019, anything donated would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
