My Best Friend and Brother tragically passed away on 24th November 2018. His death was a shock to everyone, and he leaves behind his two children. Zakaria Sharif-Ali was an incredible father, son, brother and friend.

His character and Personality made an impression on everyone he met - his genuine personality, sense of humour and desire to help and befriend others touched everyone who knew him, whether you met him once or were a close friend.

This fundraiser is to help Zakaria's young children and wife in the bereavement of their father and Husband. His family are reeling from this terrible shock. The death of a son is traumatic and draining mentally and physically for the entire family, and I want to do what I can to lessen the financial burden so that can be one less thing for them to worry about. Your contributions will go towards Building a well in his name, and to support his Wife and two Kids

The deceased can benefit from charity given on his behalf, which includes a digging a well, or planting a tree, whether he does that during his lifetime or it is done by someone else on his behalf after his death.

With regard to the best ways of benefiting your father, you should make a lot of du’aa’ for him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “and say: ‘My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young’” [al-Isra’ 17:24]

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, or beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who will pray for him.”

I loved, admired and respected Zakaria immensely. He was an amazing dad and loved his kids more than anything. He respected his mother and Father and they were his world and to them he was.

We can all feel helpless when there’s a death in our close circle and want to help loved ones as much as we can. This is a way for family, friends and extended folks whose lives were touched by Zakaria to give back to his family.

I will Miss you my brother

O Allah! Forgive him and have Mercy on him and give him strength and pardon him. Be generous to him and cause his entrace to be wide and wash him with water and snow and hail.

Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of stains. Give him an abode better than his home, and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife. Take him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave (and of the fire)
