I've raised £2250 to volunteer with Dentaid in Cambodia providing emergency dental care to children and vulnerable adults in destitute and remote areas.

My name is Zanna and I will be volunteering on the Dentaid Cambodia programme Feb/March 2020.
I would like to begin by mentioning my reasons for volunteering with this charity... I first started dental nursing in 2005 with an overwhelming desire to help people and a passion for learning. I obtained my NEBDN National Certificate, a BDA David Baird prize for best student dental nurse, and registered myself with the GDC. After recently taking some time out to raise my family, I returned to work with an enthusiasm to progress, and embarked on a BDA Oral Health Education course. Having successfully completed the course with an A for outstanding achievement, I have decided to utilise my qualifications and nursing experience to do something positive and proactive.
Which brings me to Dentaid... Dentaid is a non-profit charity that works to improve oral health in the UK and overseas, increasing access to safe and sustainable dental care. Dentaid overseas run outreach clinics in schools, churches, remote communities, prisons, orphanages and refugee camps. I will be volunteering for 2 weeks, along with 6 other UK dental professionals, on the Cambodia Programme. We will be providing emergency pain relief dentistry and prevention programs to children and vulnerable adults in destitute and remote areas of Cambodia. We will be practicing in difficult and challenging situations, with basic dental materials and equipment.
This is a remarkable cause offering crucial dental care to patients that do not have access to this kind of medical care. The cost of the Cambodia Programme per volunteer is £2250, and as Dentaid is a non profit charity that relies on volunteers and donations, I will need to raise the money. So please if you can donate even a small amount, it would make an immense difference x
